July 28, 2013

It's been a long drought since I've made a blog post. A writer/artist friend of mine has encouraged me to add information, tidbits, interests of mine to the blog. With that in mind, I will be contributing stories, antidotes, tidbits, and recipes about my life as an artist, sojourner on the planet, and the journey to inner peace, creativity and love. So here goes:

I've been writing 'Morning Pages' for almost a year now. It's one of the strong recommendations from Julia Cameron's book The Artist's Way. In addition to the Morning Pages, each morning I've been investing time in a prayer of gratitude, meditation and self-hypnosis or visualization. It's been the mainstay of a personal transformation and growth that has set me on a new path of discovery, joy and peace.  In addition, I've enjoyed the most financially successful month in my thirteen years as a fine artist. Private collectors and galleries have provided many nice sales this month.  May I say, "God is Good!" I believe that ALL of this success is due to the spiritual exercises and quest that I've been on. "As a man thinketh in his heart, so shall he be" James Allen, As a Man Thinketh. That's a bit of a misnomer since a man can't 'thinketh in his heart', only in his mind but I think you get the idea. You may ask yourself, "Why is he telling me this?". This self-discovery journey into the spirit yields many rewards and I think it's worth sharing...  there may be some value for you too.

For those interested in this journey, please investigate authors Wayne Dyer, Marianne Williamson, Caroline Myss, Deepak Chorpa, Eckhart Tolle, Craig Beck, Bruce Lipton. These people's message resonates with me and have contributed immensely to my growth as an artist and 'human bean'. I'll be talking more about this with more depth in future posts.

Okay, all you artist's, if you're reading this. Keep sketching, keep painting, keep drawing, keep sculpting, keep writing, keep singing, keep composing, keep playing, keep doing. Art is a long-term process and we must be practicing this creative form every day. It is, as you know, a way of life, a way of being. Think art, be art, be the creative beast you were meant to be.

And for the lovers of art, collect art, buy art, support an artist today and let the art reach deep in you soul and give you that certain je ne sais quoi.

All the best to you. If you'd like to comment, please, I'd love to hear from you.
